Hi Everyone. Oliver here. Sad news to hear Michael from ‘The Exchange’ is retiring and the bookshop will be closing in 4 weeks time. I read my first book there. One of the mister men books I think. Anyway I think we all know someone who has first read or bought a book at ‘The Exchange’. It is an institution in Dalkey. And Michael is one of the most generous persons I know. He has supported so many local causes and events throughout the years anonymously. Michael will make the decision of what’s next for ‘The Exchange’ as I’m sure there will be many offers but as a customer and friend I think we would like it to remain our local bookshop to whoever takes it on.
