For thousands of fans, Blazing Salads conjures up one meaning – whole food, fabulously prepared.

It all began more than 30 years ago when the Fitzmaurice family decided to adopt a strictly whole food diet. It was not easy; ingredients were scarce and there was little popular understanding of the benefits of whole foods. But to the Fitzmaurice’s the benefits were soon evident in high energy levels and a general sense of well being. A passion for whole food was born and it led, almost inevitably, to the opening of a whole food/vegetarian restaurant.

The Blazing Salads Cookbook distils the experience of two generations, over 3 decades, of preparing and cooking great food. Here you will find recipes for spreads and dips, soups, casseroles, salads, main courses, salads, main dishes, savories, cakes, desserts, and breads. There is also background information on whole foods and their preparation and detailed instructions on how to cook delicious meals using natural and seasonal ingredients, without the use of sugar, wheat or other artificial ingredients.
