37 year old Oliver has been running the award winning health food store ‘Select Stores’ in Dalkey since 2004.
He worked in the hospitality business since the age of 16. He graduated in TV production/communications with honours from Dun Laoghaire Institute of Technology in 1998.

His love for nutrition started on his travels to Australia and the USA where he worked in various organic, vegetarian cafes and stores picking up ideas along the way especially in Sydney, Provincetown, Boston, New York and San Francisco.
He returned to Ireland in 2001 where he got to know his first mentors, local leading nutritionist Joan Hanrahan and macrobiotic nutritionist Celia Armelin. Through this experience he became aware of his own food sensitivities and the power of healing foods.

In 2004, Oliver reinvented Select Stores from traditional family greengrocer to dynamic health wholefood store with organic juice bar, cafe and much more with the support of his family. In 2007 he graduated as a Nutritionist from The Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health where he was trained by Ireland’s top nutritionists Richard Burton and Grace Kinnerons.

When Oliver is not working in the shop he gives healthy eating talks and demos in local primary and secondary schools. He organised the ‘Dalkey Health Expo’ in 2005 and has gone on to give detox juicing demos at the National Health Show in the RDS in October 2005/2006. Cooks Academy Cookery School in Dun Laoghaire is another base for juicing detox demos with Oliver. He has written for Easy Health magazine and is involved with the student Spunout organisation as well as contributing to the Avivas Health website. He has given nutritional talks and seminars at third level institutes of technology around Ireland and in April 2008 at Trinity College during their Health Week.

Oliver speaks about how important healthy eating is in this day and age and makes people aware of what is in food and drink today. His talks stretch from importance of vegetables in one’s diet to coeliacs to skin awareness.
