Select Stores Pineapple Power

Makes 10 ounces.Make sure you wash your fruit and vegetables where necessary

Ingredients:

one tablespoon of ripe mango

one tablespoon of ripe pineapple

one teaspoon of ripe banana

one teaspoon of ripe pear

small cup of freshly squeezed orange juice

teaspoon of natural non sugar yoghurt

squirt of honey.

Method:

You will need a blender and juicer for this recipe.

1.Peel and stone mango (adult supervision) and take a tablespoon of the flesh.

2.Peel and cube pineapple and take a heaped tablespoon.

Dates for your Diary. It’s only round the corner, Dalkey Book Festival 2012. We don’t have information on DBF events as of yet but we can tell you that at Writer’s Corner on Saturday 16th June 2012 BLOOMSDAY from 12pm – 6pm there will be live acoustic music, live cookery demos, outdoor seating, summer foodie items such as jersey cow ice cream and lots of mouthwatering smoothies and it’s Bloomsday so there will be lots of dressing up and madness.
All we need is the weather so start visualising a scorcher.

A tribute to Michael The Exchange Bookshop from the DBG

A framed photo of Michael at the door of The Exchange Bookshop was presented by Oliver McCabe and Blaithin O’Brien DBG at his farewell last hour. The piece was created by Photogenic Dalkey and was signed by the DBG members throughout Dalkey as a memento for him to have forever. Margaret from the Country Bake Dalkey baked a beautiful cake for Michael and Staff for the occassion in the shape of a book.

Hi Everyone. Oliver here. Sad news to hear Michael from ‘The Exchange’ is retiring and the bookshop will be closing in 4 weeks time. I read my first book there. One of the mister men books I think. Anyway I think we all know someone who has first read or bought a book at ‘The Exchange’. It is an institution in Dalkey. And Michael is one of the most generous persons I know.
