The Ultimate Breakfast Smoothie

This recipe is kindly supplied by Select Stores, Dalkey, Co. Dublin

1-2 dessertspoons Udo’s Choice® Ultimate Oil

1 Banana

200g mixed berries (Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries)

2 tblsps Pumpkin and Sunflower seeds

1 tblsp quinoa flakes, millet or cornflakes

2 tblsps soya or dairy yoghurt

200ml rice milk or cow’s milk

1 teasp Manuka or locally grown honey.

Mix all ingredients well in a blender, drink immediately.

Dates for your Diary. It’s only round the corner, Dalkey Book Festival 2012. We don’t have information on DBF events as of yet but we can tell you that at Writer’s Corner on Saturday 16th June 2012 BLOOMSDAY from 12pm – 6pm there will be live acoustic music, live cookery demos, outdoor seating, summer foodie items such as jersey cow ice cream and lots of mouthwatering smoothies and it’s Bloomsday so there will be lots of dressing up and madness.
All we need is the weather so start visualising a scorcher.

Last Saturday I finally took the trip out to Dalkey Select Stores. I’ve been meaning to do it for aaaaages but something always came up which left me wondering just what does go on down in Dalkey in the famous Select Stores?… So last Saturday I was happily educated with the answer! A framed photo of Michael at the door of The Exchange Bookshop was presented by Oliver McCabe and Blaithin O’Brien DBG at his farewell last hour. The piece was created by Photogenic Dalkey and was signed by the DBG members throughout Dalkey as a memento for him to have forever. Margaret from the Country Bake Dalkey baked a beautiful cake for Michael and Staff for the occassion in the shape of a book.
